Tell Us About Your Ability

At the computer…

Fast-forward a couple weeks. Sure, I was still glad to be alive and all — yeah, yeah, brain aneurysms are a bitch, I know — but I wasn’t exactly doing cartwheels or anything.

As I sat staring into my morning coffee, I recognized a feeling not unlike the one I’d had decades ago as I returned my rented white tuxedo the day after my senior prom. I had shelled out half a week’s salary (paying extra to get the satin jacket with tails), another week’s salary renting one of the few limos with a new invention called a “sunroof,” reserved a “just in case” motel room under the name “Mr. and Mrs. Will Sea,” had the carnation corsage dyed the exact shade of salmon as my date’s dress, gotten my best friend’s sister to cover the giant zit on my forehead with makeup so as not to ruin our prom photo, dropped over $25 on two steak dinners, danced non-stop through almost three hours of a Sonny & Cher cover band and refilled Debbie’s cup with fruit-and-ginger-ale punch roughly four dozen times…and I still didn’t even get to second base.

I didn’t reject promicin, but it sure seems to have rejected me. And believe it or not, waiting 48 hours for the Angel of Death to arrive was actually a helluva lot harder than twitching through a third encore of “I (Still) Got You Babe.”

Am I the lone Promicin Reject out there, the exception to the 50/50 rule? Where were all the other people who’d injected promicin? What were their stories? How long did they have to wait for their ability to manifest? Did it appear to them in some sort of grand vision, or was it trial and error? Wasn’t there anybody out there, somewhere, telling it like it is, the real deal, without all the BS?

There’s certainly no shortage of opinions out there, pro or con, on the promicin issue, but I was hard-pressed to find a neutral spot where regular, rational people could explore and discuss without any sort of agenda getting in the way.

So I made one myself. Welcome to it, pal.

PromicinInfo.com is pretty bare bones right now, but I’m starting to compile and post everything I can get my hands on with regards to promicin — personal stories, photos, videos, articles, whatever.

Just added to our media collection:

  • VIDEO: You may remember hearing about “the lady from El Paso” as one of the first people to inject promicin and go public with her 4400 ability. Well, the gal gets around.

  • VIDEO: Congressman Duane Smithfield courts controversy with a statement the House Minority Leader calls a “tepid and ineffectual response to the deadliest weapon in history.”

  • ARTICLE: Got blood? Is it promicin-free? Hmm…better not juggle any scissors for a while, just in case. Read about the Blood Bank Crisis
  • ARTICLE: An entire class in Iowa gets perfect SAT scores…just what are they doing to that corn? Read the article

Got a promicin story of your own? I’d love to hear it, whether it’s got a happy ending, a tragic one, or is just beginning. I’m working on getting a discussion forum up, but for now you can just email me your comments, hate mail, love letters, whatever you’ve got. All points of view are welcome, I don’t discriminate on the basis of age, sex, orientation, race, religion, political affiliation, economic status, or even number of toes (seriously, Mr. Baughlum, let’s chat!)

Looking forward to hearing from all of you….

  2. It was hard on me. I had waited around 5 weeks before I noticed my ability. I have no clue why it took that long, but it did. Hang in there, Ted, your first 48 hours are over. Something is bound to happen.

  4. Thanks, LoneDog. In the mean time, though, life’s not too shabby at all. In fact, I don’t even want an ability any more!

(Just playing hard-to-get, in case Lady Promicin is reading over my shoulder.)

  6. Don’t sweat it Ted. It took me about three weeks for my ability to onset. Look at it this way though, most things worth having are worth waiting for.

At any rate, you might have already developed an ability and just have been looking in the wrong place. I became aware of my ability through sheer happenstance (not always a good thing, as sitting surrounded by twenty five other people while completely naked is horribly embarrassing).

At any rate, it’s just a matter of time. Try not to think about it. And if something does happen, that’s great. If not, life goes on and you can still live a productive life without an ability. People have been getting by for thousands of years and helping each other without the aid neurological or metabolic altering abilities.

  8. Interestingly enough Ted,

You chose to take the injection, and have not yet developed an ability.

I chose to NOT take the injection and yet received it by accident, and gained a wonderful ability that can literally help create better odds for people considering taking promicin.

If you and I combine our unique stories and points of view, I believe that we can affect some positive change in the way so many people in the world view us…. what do you think?

  10. What will the next promicin site be about.

  12. Well Ted it seems that our abilities manifest different for each person my best bet is that this is because of Genetic differences.

See some people are more adept at some things then others wich is largely decided by Genetic make-up like some disseases u can inherit from your parents it may work with Promicin just the same.

U could always see this woman who has posted on the Promicin info forums she has the fasciating gift of bieng able to “jumpstart” other peoples powers who have taken Promicin and not yet developed a Ability.

I want to wish you good luck Ted and hope u will develop a ability soon

  14. Most abilitys seem to first emerge not by deliberate intention, but rather a subconcious response to a need.

Dont rush or worry about it.
Your ability will show when you need it most.
